Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease, which may have an internal or external sources, although the latter is much more common.
Asthma can be triggered in times of stress, infections, anxiety attacks, or exposure to environmental agents such as pollen, dust mites, air pollution, and animal hair. Allergies, food can also trigger asthma attacks. Among the groups most affected are children under 16 and those over 65 years.
In our diet we should prefer foods that contain magnesium to relax the airways, wheat germ, whole grains, sunflower seeds, spinach, apricots and others. Also foods rich in vitamin C and B6, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, strawberries, kiwi fruit, currant, mango, parsley, red pepper, tomato, bananas, nuts, sprouts, peanuts, whole grains and soybeans. On the other hand we must not forget the foods that contain all kinds of vitamin B complex, and that strengthen the nervous system, relaxing and useful to stress, green leafy vegetables (preferably uncooked) and vegetables.
Whenever you have a flare-up is advisable to go to the emergency medical attention if your symptoms do not subside, but may be relieved beyond medication using an infusion of oregano and mint leaves sweetened with honey. Remember to consult your trusted doctor.
