Hardly find any person who has never experienced a headache or migraine. This common nuisance as unbearable as may result from many factors ranging from stress, lack of sleep and poor nutrition to hereditary and genetic reasons.
However, not all headaches are alike. In the journal Health tell us what are the different types of headache. They are:
Voltage Pain
It’s the kind of headache most common, constant pain or pressure in the temples, in the back of the head and neck. They fight with drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen. These pains can be caused by the contraction of the muscles of the neck and scalp as a response to stress.
Pain “cluster”
This type of headache feels like pain in groups or cycles, that suddenly appear on one side of the head and may be accompanied by watery eyes and congestion. It affects more men than women and is believed to be caused by genetics. No cure, but still can be controlled with medication.
Sinus Headache
It is a pain arising as a result of inflammation of the sinuses. It may also be accompanied by fever. As this is the symptom of an infection can be treated with antibiotics, antihistamines and decongestants.
Headache “rebound”
Did you know that abuse of analgesics for headache may cause more headaches? It is believed that medication overuse causes a state of excitement in the brain that manifests itself through headaches. Another theory says the rebound headache is a symptom of drug withdrawal.
Migraines
This powerful headaches known as migraines are hereditary. These sharp pains in the head, from mild to severe, with some sensitivity to light and sound. You may also be accompanied by vomiting and nausea.
